Nowadays, with there being such a large variety of process sector equipment operating in Iran’s various industrial sectors (oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, water/sewage, etc.) much of the electro-mechanical equipment is being supplied by internationally well known manufacturers.
However, according to the comments of a surprising number of end-users, in too many cases even manufacturers with reputable names have been supplying equipment that has proven less efficient than the customers have been expecting. Thus raising question of whether a number of these notable companies may have lost some of their quality control? Have performance issues developed during the course of operation? Given the current rapid rise in raw material prices, has price optimization resulted in this decline? Have manufacturers costing efforts to stay competitive by trying to keep their prices stable been responsible, or are there still other factors affecting equipment quality and performance? In many instances the above questions can be answered in the affirmative. In other cases the root cause can be attributed to an incorrect selection at the source, commonly due to wrong or insufficient initial information obtained by the selector.
It is our view that as each manufacturer has the greatest understanding of its process products, it is therefore in position to best outline the collection of processing information to guide in proper equipment selection, under the many and varied process environments and circumstances. In still other circumstances, despite the best equipment selection based on all necessary input data, an incorrect installation/start-up may be the cause of inadequate performance; the resulting outcome being inadequate lifetime of the project equipment and the arising operational inefficiency. Finally, provided that the above-mentioned two factors are given proper attention, either an incorrect maintenance program or an unprofessional after-sales service approach from the manufacturer or his designate can damage or weaken the positive effects of the above.
Given these many considerations, there is a crucial role a competent technical representative company, having a wide-range of capabilities has to play in follow-up and support of the clientele. By placing training courses either at the customer/end-user’s site or at our own facilities for their benefit, we find it fosters the best conditions for smooth project execution, as well as increasing the trust level and confidence of the customers/end-users.
